David is a highly experienced Employment Relations consultant who works with HR Directors, Corporate Lawyers, HR teams and small to medium Business Owners (SME) across ANZ to resolve employment relations issues and challenges.
David has developed a unique skill set over 25 years as a senior HR, Safety, and line manager for manufacturing companies such as CSR, Arnott’s and Glaxosmithkline.
Having spent over 12 years as a GM of HR and Safety, and 3 years as Regional General Manager responsible for a $250M manufacturing and trade retail business, David has been exposed to many ER situations from multiple lenses. This background brings insights most don’t have.
Directly managing over 40 EBA negotiations (and supervised many more) David has extensive practical experience in this area. He has also managed directly many difficult workplace challenges resulting from serious misconduct, problematic / underperforming employee(s)/teams, workplace accidents and injuries. These experiences have resulted in regular exposure to company director and boards, legal practitioners, the FWC, state-based safety regulators and many Employee Representative bodies (Unions).
Pragmatic and outcomes focused, David has an easy going and friendly style that allows him to build trust getting matters resolved effectively; he can also provide ‘on the run’ coaching and advice where required.
David has an Honours Degree in Applied Science (Class 1), a Graduate Certificate in Employment Relations (ER) and a Master of Business majoring in ER/HR.
Cheryl Smith is a seasoned Senior HR Consultant and Investigator with over 30 years of experience in the field. Her extensive career includes significant roles such as State Human Resources Manager for Adelaide, Victoria, and Queensland, and various National HR Positions with Coles Myers Ltd, Qantas Group, and John Holland Aviation.
Most recently, Cheryl served as HR Manager for Victoria/Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and New Zealand at CSR Lightweight Systems. Her deep expertise and broad experience have made her a highly respected professional in HR and investigations.
